Here's To Turning 30!!!

Hi Friends & Family,

So, the big 30th birthday (April 8th) has come and gone and I must say it's been so far so good living in my 30's. As my husband, Paul, would say I've officially been initiated into a very elite and exclusive club and as a member I'll find that life is much more enjoyable, the jokes are that much funnier, and the beer (in my case wine) tastes that much sweeter. He also informed me that my membership package should arrive within the next week - in case you hadn't already figured it out, I have the most adorable husband!

To help me celebrate, the ladies at my office took me out to eat sushi on the eve of my birthday. I love working with this group of ladies and we have a total blast every single time we hang out - and this was no exception. Here's a picture we took of all of us together:

What a special birthday eve treat!

I had to work on my actual birthday, but I was able to get off a tad bit early for good behavior. Actually I just took a late lunch so that I could head to the house to get all gussied up for a hot date night to our favorite tapas restaurant, Zhanras, in St Augustine beach.

Since St Augustine is about 45 minutes away, we wanted to get an early start so the late lunch really helped...at least we thought it would...a 45 minute trip turned in to just over 2 hours. If you are familiar with St Augustine then you know that they've been working on the Bridge of Lions (the main connector between downtown and the beaches) for what seems like forever, and from what we'd heard they had finally opened the new bridge - oh happy day! Well, after sitting in traffic - that we thought was caused by Spring break crowds - for about 30 minutes, we finally made it to the bridge and it was closed.

Good thing we had the camera cause here were our faces: a mix between disappointment and frustration:

Okay, so I'm not such a good actress...but how could i really be upset, after all, I was with Pauly and it was my birthday.

So, after a couple of hours in the car we finally made it to our destination. We were both starving and in the mood for an adult beverage to help us both relax and unwind. As always the food was amazing and it was a wonderful birthday dinner. Here are a few photos we got to remember the momentous occasion:

It was the perfect 30th birthday and I owe Pauly a million and one "Thank You" hugs and kisses. I also want to say thank you to all of the amazing people in my life that took the time to call and wish me a happy day - the wishes worked!

Side Note: Paul surprised me at the office with a beautiful Blue Hyacinth that smells so yummy and it puts a smile on my face each day that i come to work. He told me that Mrs. Teddy (our new precious puppy) actually picked it out and Teddy wanted to see my face when Paul gave it to me so he rode with Paul to the office for the surprise birthday trip...how adorable is that!!!

Second Side Note: my beautiful mother surprised me yet again for my birthday. In addition to the treats i got in the mail before my birthday and the tickets to Wicked in NYC she completely caught me off guard with the most perfect herb garden basket. Boy-oh-boy does my mother know me or what - i've already used some mint and basil:

Check out the cute little bird!

Well, that about covers all of my 30th birthday surprises - as if i could have handled more than that. Thanks again to all the people who helped to make it the best birthday ever!

Until next time,

XOXOXO
